In the modern education system of our university, there is a transition from extensive information training to intensive fundamental. The paradigm shift affects all components of the pedagogical process: from targets and educational content, to private methods and specific forms of work. To the maximum extent, this requirement applies to the system of continuing medical education, "the symbols of which in our century are: competence, independent search for knowledge, continuous improvement of skills and abilities, free orientation in solving complex professional and social problems."
The required quality of professional training of a future physician is achieved by fulfilling a number of conditions, including the modern level of material and technological equipment of the educational process; high availability of scientific, educational and specialized literature, international electronic library resources; extensive use of simulation training technologies; professional and personal type of interaction between a teacher and a student. At the same time, one of the urgent pedagogical problems remains the full inclusion of a research and practice-oriented component in the educational process. The integration of students' academic and extracurricular activities within the student scientific circle contributes significantly to the solution of this problem.
The organization of research activities of students at the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy, a meeting of the scientific circle of students called "Young radiologists", scientific and practical conferences, both foreign and republican, held at the Samarkand State Medical University is carried out by holding meetings of the participants of the circle. The undeniable advantages of the circle form of work over others are the common interests of the participants, the partner style of interpersonal interaction, the absence of an official system for evaluating achievements, and the high motivation of the participants.
The members of the circle prepare modern research papers on the current problems of modern medicine for republican and foreign competitions of research papers. We encourage all students interested in the problems of radiology in medicine to further cooperation. The fundamental principle of the work of the circle is student self-government. Independence and self-activity of students is considered as one of the conditions for achieving the modern quality of training of specialists by many researchers. In our practice, the heads of sections make up a thematic work plan and submit it for approval first to the head of the circle, and then to the management of the department. The leaders of the circle bring to the attention of the participants the topics, the list of issues and tasks discussed, the time of the meetings.
Responsible for the activities of the scientific circle is currently the assistant of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy Giyasova Nigora Kobilovna, who is the author of more than 25 scientific papers.
The head of the scientific circle is Kamilla Rayimzhanova, a 5th-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, author and co-author of more than 15 scientific papers, multiple winner of the rector's scholarship, winner of the Olympiad on the subject of Radiology at the conference "Samarkand 2020(2)".
