SamSMU takes an active part in national and international exhibitions and fairs, conferences, congresses and other scientific events. Regularly on the basis of the university are held high-profile international scientific-practical conferences, seminars, round tables, devoted to the topical issues of health care.
SamSMU has modern polygraphic base. Annually are published manuals, monographs, collected scientific works, journals "Journal of Biomedicine and Practice", "Journal of Biology and Medicine Problems", "Journal of Medical Bulletin", "Journal of Cardiorespiratory Research", "Journal of Hepato-Gastroenterological Research", "Journal of Reproductive Health and Uronephrology Research", "Journal of Dental and Craniofacial Research" included by HAC Republic of Uzbekistan into list of editions for publication of dissertational research results.
A system for the continuous training of highly qualified personnel has been organized. After graduation from the university, students can continue their studies in master's degree, clinical residency, base doctoral and doctoral studies. The university has 3 Scientific Councils for awarding Doctor of Sciences (DSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Medical Sciences in the following specialties: 14.00.01 - Obstetrics and gynecology, 14.00.04 - Otorhinolaryngology, 14.00.05 - Internal diseases, 14.00.09 - Pediatrics, 14.00.13 - Neurology, 14.00.14 - Oncology (until 2021), 14.00.21 - Dentistry, 14.00.27 – Surgery, 14.00.35 – Pediatric surgery, 14.00.38 – Sports medicine.
According to the Decree of the President of Republic of Uzbekistan from April, 01, 2021 № UP-6198, since 2021 the Ministry of innovative development of Republic of Uzbekistan is conducted rating of scientific organizations, as well as higher educational universities and system of evaluation of their scientific and innovative activity was introduced. According to the evaluation for academic year 2020-2021 SamSMU entered the list of top 10 universities among 85 higher educational universities participating in the ranking. The Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented for the encouragement of the rector - Rizaev J.A. and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation - Ziyadullaev Sh.Kh.
DUTIES OF VICE-RECTOR FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION INCLUDES:
- Realization of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees and orders of the President, decrees of Oliy Majlis and Cabinet of Ministers in the field of education and science, normative legal acts and instructions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Innovative Development
- Provision of organizational assistance to departments and courses in the course of implementation of plans and programmes, assignments on research, innovation, inventive activity and standardization of scientific research
- Management and assistance in finding, selecting and working with talented young people;
- Management of process of preparation of students on Republican and international scientific and practical conferences, on competition of President scholarship, State scholarships of I.A.Karimov and Avicenna, and also to Republican subject olympiads;
- Provision of general management and control over scientific-research activities of the staff of the university departments, as well as participation in research projects and grants, monitoring the effectiveness of research, addressing issues on the implementation of innovations in practice, scientific and technical developments in various exhibitions;
- Provision of scientific researches of observance of standard requirements, qualitative registration of the documentation, observance of the established order of its coordination;
- Organization of work on protection of intellectual property objects, direction of work on patenting of scientific achievements, providing registration of inventions and rationalization proposals;
- Control over the process of preparation and publication of scientific materials, including journal scientific articles of departmental staff of the university, as well as scientific periodicals for all educational and scientific activities of the university, control over the updating of the library; provision of access to Scopus, Web of science and other cited international electronic libraries for the university staff;
- Coordination of planning, organization and realization of republican and international scientific-practical conferences, providing participation of lecturers and students in scientific conferences, spent by leading foreign medical high schools and research universities and universities.
- Provision of preparation of the highly skilled scientific and pedagogical shots through doctoral studies and self-provision of assistance to the staff of university in timely obtaining of scientific titles and activities;
