The Second Eurasian Medical Congress and the First Eurasian Congress of Nurses were held at Samarkand State Medical University from April 4-6, 2025. These significant Forums have become an important platform for the introduction of best practices, innovations and technologies, as well as the development of cooperation in the medical field.
The main topic of discussion was the study of the legacy of our great ancestor Abu Ali ibn Sino and the recognition of his contribution to the development of medicine. The topics of minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery were also discussed: improving surgical operations using modern technologies and increasing their safety for patients; early diagnosis of cancer and effective treatment methods; the introduction of innovative approaches and simulation technologies in the training of medical personnel.
The international scientific and practical conference was attended by more than 400 leading representatives of the field from Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and other countries.
The Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Zhasur Rizaev, speaking at the opening of the congress, stressed the importance of the forums for the development of fundamental medicine and practical healthcare.
Presentations on such topical issues as "Achievements and losses of modern European medicine in a historical context", "Laparoscopic and robotic surgery: past, present and future", "Technical features of operations in thoracic surgery using robots", "Possibilities of laparoscopic technology" were heard at the II Eurasian Medical Congress and the I Eurasian Congress of Nurses. in the treatment of liver echinococcosis", "Robotic surgery of the rectum", discussions and discussions on the reports were held.
In addition, leading specialists from Uzbekistan and abroad organized courses in robotic surgery, laparoscopic gynecology and urology, interventional radiology and ultrasound, laser proctology, and nursing, and conducted a total of more than 25 master classes.
Within the framework of the international scientific and practical congress, about 15 surgical, urological and gynecological operations were performed on the basis of the surgical building of the SamSMU multidisciplinary clinic with the participation of leading specialists, including complex surgical operations using robots for the first time in Samarkand. Medical examinations were organized for the region's severe patients.
Also, at the opening ceremony of the congress, an international certificate of institutional accreditation was awarded to Samarkand State Medical University from the independent accreditation and rating agency ECAQA (Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Education and Healthcare), confirming the compliance of the university's educational activities with international criteria and standards. This accreditation opens up great opportunities for university students, creating a solid foundation for the recognition of graduate diplomas in foreign countries and by employers.
The Second Eurasian Medical Congress and the First Eurasian Congress of Nurses will play an important role in the international exchange of knowledge and experience, innovation, strengthening international cooperation, expanding ties between the medical and nursing fields, as well as creating new opportunities for scientific research.
