History of the department

  In 1985, Professor A.M. Shamsiev organized the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Regional Children's Hospital, a pediatric surgical department for 60 patients. Great help and support in the organization of the department was provided by the leadership of the Medical Institute, headed by the rector, Professor S.A. Aripov. At the same time, the constant attention and moral support of the largest surgeons of the former Union are invaluable - academicians Y.F.Isakov (Moscow), A.T. Pulatov (Dushanbe), professors N.L. Kushcha (Donetsk) , Ya.K. ), A.S.Sulaimonov (Tashkent), S.R.Rakhimov (Andijan), K.S.Ormantaev ( Almaty ) and many others. The first employees of the department were N.R.Mamurov , M.G.Asadullina, D.O.Atakulov, Umirov T.N., S.M.Musaev.

  In 1987, the department was visited by the Deputy Minister for Motherhood and Childhood of the USSR Ministry of Health, Professor A. Baranov. On his initiative, the department was transferred to the newly built 8-storey building of the regional hospital.

  In 1989, at the request of Professor A.M. Shamsiev, with the assistance of the city administration of the region, the building was completely transferred to the clinical base of the department in the status of the regional children's surgical hospital, the head physician of which was approved by Professor A.M. Shamsiev.

  In 1990, the clinic was reorganized into a scientific, educational and medical association "Children's Surgery" (order No. 197, dated March 07. 1990 г), Professor A.M. Shamsiev was appointed general director. In 1996, by the decision of the khokimiyat of the Samarkand region dated June 26, No. 130-K NULO, pediatric surgery was reorganized into the Scientific Center for Pediatric Surgery (SCPS), headed by the head of the department and director, Professor A.M. Shamsiev . In 2014, the SCPS was transformed into a 2-clinic of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. The 2-clinic of Samarkand State Medical University has 250 beds and is the clinical base of the department. It included departments: thoracic, urology, emergency and purulent surgery, elective, cardiac surgery, neonatal surgery, anesthesiology and resuscitation, one-day surgical hospital, laboratory diagnostic.

  The Department of Pediatric Surgery currently conducts classes with students of the pediatric (5th and 6th year), medical (5th year) faculties and the faculty of medical pedagogy (5th year), as well as with residents of the magistracy and clinical residents. They are led by experienced teachers: Professor A.M. Shamsiev, professor D.O.Atakulov, associate professors: DcS Sh.A.Yusupov, Ph.D. N.S. Boymuradov, Ph.D. S.S. Zainiev, Ph.D. A.K. Shakhriev, assistants ­- U.T. Suvankulov, B.L. Davranov, senior lecturer F.E. Makhmatkulov, B.N. Rakhmatov, N.I. Boyzhigitov, A.K. Rakhimov. Practical classes with students are held ­in specialized departments. In teaching, along with traditional methods (posters, color slides, educational radiographs, etc.), modern technical teaching aids are used - video lectures, video ­fragments of the most complex operations, videos of patients with various pathologies, electronic textbooks "Surgical diseases of childhood", “Purulent surgical infection”, “Chronic venous insufficiency”, etc. At the initiative of Professor A.M. demonstration of complex patients and surgical interventions. The department has computer classes, and a ­library, in the funds of which there are textbooks and monographs on pediatric surgery, magazines: "Children's Surgery", "Surgery", "Bulletin of Surgery", "Pediatrics", "Surgery of Uzbekistan", etc. (more than 100 titles). Students, cadets, residents of the magistracy, and clinical residents can use the library fund both in the daytime and while on duty in the clinic.

  The priority direction of the department's work was scientific research. They were carried out in several directions.

  Research work was devoted to radical and reconstructive surgical interventions for malformations of the genitourinary system (doctoral dissertation by Yu.M. Akhmedov - 1992, 1994 Ph.D. digestive tract (PhD dissertation A.S. Sarkisyan - 1994, B.A. Yuldashev -1998); diseases of the liver ( Ph.D. thesis of Sh.M. 2006 Irgashev – 1994-1995); diseases of the bronchopulmonary system (PhD dissertation of E.E. purulent-septic diseases (Ph.D. thesis of M.U. Supankulov - 1994, F.S. Raupov - 1998, doctoral dissertation of D.T. Rabbimov - 2018), advanced forms of peritonitis, adhesive intestinal obstruction (Ph.D. thesis of D.S. Toychibaev - 1998, Zh.A. Shamsiev - 2004, A.K. Shahriev - 2005, U.T. Suvankulova - 2006, Davranov B.L. - 2008 Sh.A. Yusupov 2018, F.S. Oripov - 2018); acute and chronic hematogenous osteomyelitis (Ph.D. thesis of Juraev A.A. - 1997, Amanov A.I. -2004, Burgutov M.D. 2013, S.S. Zainiev 2018, Z.M. Makhmudov - 2019) ; postoperative ventral hernias (Ph.D. thesis by S.S. Davlatov - 2019). A number of works are devoted to 2007 the 1998 problems of echinococcosis , 1996 which resulted in Ph.D. J.A. Shamsiev in 2015.

  All the necessary conditions have been created for scientific research in the 2-clinic of Samarkand State Medical University. On the initiative of Professor A.M. Shamsiev, immunological, biochemical, bacteriological, morphological and experimental laboratories were organized, which are used by the staff of the department.

  Since 1997, research work has been carried out on 12 projects within the framework of grants from the Fund for Support of Fundamental Research of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and on priority programs of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Uzbekistan (headed by Professor A.M. Shamsiev). Currently, the staff of the department performs scientific research on applied and innovative projects. The forge of the scientific staff of the department is the student ­scientific society (SSS), whose members, for more than 30 years, have been actively participating in All-Russian scientific conferences and winning prizes (48 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals) every year. Kruzhkovtsy also make presentations at republican and institute scientific forums. The students of the circle ­annually take part in the Republican Olympiads in pediatric surgery and are winners. The most active members of the SSS department continue their scientific research through doctoral studies and clinical residency.

  Along with educational and scientific activities, the department conducts medical and patronage work. The center of the multidisciplinary clinic, which is ­specialized, provides highly qualified round-the-clock surgical care to children in Samarkand, Jizzakh, Navoi, Bukhara, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya ­regions. Every year more than 12,000 patients come to the clinic, 7,000 of them are hospitalized, about 5,000 complex operations on the heart, lungs, liver, organs of the genitourinary system and intestines are performed.

  Prof. A.M. Shamsiev became the initiator of the organization of a specialized pediatric surgical service in the Samarkand region. In the rural areas of the region, staffs ­of pediatric surgeons and beds for children with surgical diseases were introduced. Every year, in every rural area of the Samarkand region, as well as in Kashkadarya, Navoi, ­Bukhara, Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions, traveling seminars and scientific ­and practical conferences on topical issues of childhood surgery are organized. In addition, to provide methodological, organizational and advisory assistance to rural pediatric surgeons, all districts of the Samarkand region are assigned to experienced employees of the department and clinic. According to the approved schedule, employees repeatedly travel to assigned areas to provide patronage assistance.

Yusupov Shukhrat Abdurasulovich

  Shukhrat Abdurasulovich Yusupov was born on October 21, 1966 in Samarkand. In 1989 he graduated with honors from the pediatric faculty of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 1989 to 1991 at the Department of Pediatric Surgery No. 2, he studied in clinical residency. After completing his clinical residency from 1991 to 1994, he completed postgraduate studies at the Department of Pediatric Surgery No. 2. In 1994, under the guidance of Professor A.M. Shamsiev, he successfully defended his Ph.D. in TashPMI. In 1994 -1996 worked as an assistant at the Department of Pediatric Surgery No. 2, and then until 2005 headed the course of pediatric surgery at the Faculty of Advanced Training of Doctors of SamMI. In 2001 he was awarded the title of Associate Professor. From 2001 to 2005, he worked as the head of the Department of Clinical Residency, Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies at SamMI. From 2005 to 2020, he worked as Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at SamMI. In 2018 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation "Improving the diagnosis and surgical treatment of widespread appendicular peritonitis in children" (scientific consultant - Professor A.M. Shamsiev). From 2013 to the present, he has been the head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery No. 1 of SamMI.

  Sh.A.Yusupov is the author of 5 monographs (of which 2 are abroad), two textbooks and 5 manuals, more than 800 scientific articles and abstracts, is a member of the editorial board of the journals "Problems of Clinical and Experimental Medicine" (Ukraine), "Hospital Surgery them. L.A. Kovalchuk "(Ukraine), "Health, demography, ecology of the Finno-Ugric peoples (Russia)," Vyatka medical bulletin "(Russia)," Medical education today "(Russia)," Bulletin of Avicena "(Tajikistan). He is a member of the European and Russian Associations of Pediatric Surgery, a member of the Seminar and Scientific Council 04/30.12.2019.Tib.102.01 for the award of a PhD degree at Samarkand State Medical University.
