Samarkand State Medical University cooperates with universities of many developed countries of the world. In particular, cooperation relations have been established with Japanese universities and clinics with which a number of promising projects are being realized.

  On July 20, Samarkand State Medical University was visited by a delegation headed by the Governor of GIFU prefecture of Japan Xajime Furuta and President of GIFU University Kazuhiro Yoshida. Rector of SamSMU, Professor Zhasur Rizaev received the guests.

  Within the framework of the visit a meeting was organized and issues of current cooperation were discussed. And according to their results a trilateral memorandum on cooperation and development of a road map of joint work was signed.

  Between Samarkand State Medical University and Japanese GIFU University will be established academic exchange between young scientists and students, cooperation on doctoral and master's theses, realization of the project “Joint Degree”, as well as opening of the office of GIFU University in Samarkand.

  The established cooperation with GIFU prefecture creates a basis for introducing Japanese experience in medical education of our country and raising it to a new level.
