A new stage of educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan

  The II Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan started its work in Samarkand on July 16 this year. Rectors and teachers of higher education institutions of the two countries took part in the forum organized at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road”.

  Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan K.A. Sharipov and Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan D.S. Kendirbaeva inaugurated the forum with welcoming speeches.

  The purpose of the forum is to establish direct contacts between higher education institutions of the two countries, organize exchange of teachers and students, share experience in the organization of higher education. The issues of improving the quality of education, internships, training and development of cooperation in scientific activities were considered. The issues of personnel training in the spheres of tourism, geology, agriculture, medicine, digitalization and artificial intelligence were also discussed. 

  After the opening ceremony, the Forum continued its work at breakout sessions, where current problems and future plans were discussed in the areas of “Improving the quality of education management”, “New technologies in medical education”, “Digitalization and artificial intelligence: higher education”.

  Memorandums on mutual cooperation were also signed during the forum. In particular, Samarkand State Medical University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Kyrgyz Adam University and the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. At their conclusion, the parties emphasized that the memorandums aimed at academic mobility of students and teachers, joint participation in foreign grant projects, scientific and practical cooperation will bring high results in the future.

  Organization and holding of the forum “Features of development of higher education and science in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan at the present stage” at a high level will expand educational cooperation between the two countries and bring relations to a higher level.
