SamSMU held a meeting of the Academic Council to sum up the results of the year

On December 25, the final meeting of the Academic Council for the current year was held at Samarkand State Medical University. The Academic Council was opened by the rector of the university, Jasur Rizayev, who congratulated everyone on the upcoming 2025 and wished them success in their scientific, professional activities and personal life.

The meeting began with a discussion of the results of the year, including the work done, the successes achieved and the new opportunities created. In 2024, the university achieved significant results in the scientific, practical, educational and organizational spheres. In particular, a new Surgery Center began operating in the multidisciplinary clinic of the university, and the first IVF center in Samarkand was created in cooperation with the Doctor M clinic.

Thanks to the successful work of the university, its position in the prestigious international ranking of higher education institutions, Times Higher Education, has significantly improved. It is especially pleasing that this year the university's educational programs were highly rated according to the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the Asia-Pacific Quality Registry (APQR). The programs in the areas of "General Medicine" (in Uzbek, Russian and English) and "Dentistry" were posted on the portal of accredited basic medical programs of the WFME. The certificate of international accreditation confirms the quality of educational services, their compliance with international requirements, and diplomas for these programs are recognized throughout the world, which opens up great international prospects for university graduates.

New opportunities and preferences in the educational sphere were created for students, which allowed them to participate in regional, national and international competitions and competitions, while taking prizes. And the University during the year became the organizer of many national and international scientific and practical conferences, olympiads and summer schools for students. In the field of international cooperation, the University has made a significant step forward by establishing new partnerships. In 2024, Samarkand State Medical University signed a number of memorandums with educational institutions and clinical centers in many countries around the world. Success has also been achieved in the implementation of joint educational programs within the framework of international cooperation.

During the year, the university's teachers and medical staff underwent internships abroad as part of academic mobility, and significant successes were also achieved in practical medicine.

At the Academic Council, certificates and diplomas were awarded to employees who received academic degrees. In addition, on the occasion of Medical Worker's Day, a number of university employees who won in various nominations were awarded special diplomas and commemorative statuettes.
