On February 28 of this year, a Belarusian delegation visited Samarkand State Medical University. Head of the Health Department of the Grodno Region Executive Committee L.N. Kyeda, Vice-Rector of the Grodno State Medical University V.V. Vorobiyov, Director of the Slonim State Medical College A.I. Gripich and the delegation consisting of the heads of health institutions in the Grodno Region were welcomed by the Rector of the Samarkand State Medical University Jasur Rizayev.

  Representatives of the delegation inspected the university and the conditions created in the university, the educational system and scientific and innovative activities. They also visited the university museum and got acquainted with interesting information about the history of the university.

  Speaking at the meeting, Rector of Samarkand State Medical University Jasur Rizayev, Head of Health Department of Samarkand Region, Sukhrob Zayniyev, spoke about the reforms implemented in the healthcare system in our republic in recent years, as well as the work being carried out at the regional level, in particular, positive changes in medical education. Also, representatives of the Belarusian delegation made presentations about the healthcare and education system.

  At the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Samarkand State Medical University and Grodno State Medical University of Belarus. According to the memorandum, it has been agreed between the two higher educational institutions to develop new innovative projects for the development of research and scientific activities of students and professors, as well as to establish practical cooperation in cardiology, oncology, surgery and a number of other areas, to implement educational and academic mobility programs.
