On October 17, delegation of Smolensk State Medical University (RF) visited Samarkand State Medical University.  Guests from Smolensk State Medical University Prof. Nikolay Ginali and Prof. Alexander Nikolaev were welcomed by Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Prof. Zhasur Alimjanovich Rizaev.

  The purpose of the visit was further development of cooperation between SamSMU and Smolensk State Medical University, as well as realization of joint projects.  At the meeting an agreement was reached to establish training of clinical residency specialists and qualitative improvement of medical education within the framework of cooperation between the two educational institutions.

  SamSMU Rector Jasur Rizaev presented the guests with souvenirs with the emblem of the University at the end of the meeting.
