Spiritual, educational and character-building activities constitute an important area of the work of the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of General Medicine. These activities are aimed at fostering moral values, patriotism, social responsibility, a culture of healthy living, and professional ethics among students.

  The activities are carried out in accordance with an approved plan under the coordination of Z.E. Kholmuradova. Every Thursday, “Information Hours” are held, during which students are introduced to current socio-political events, ongoing reforms, speeches and addresses by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as decisions and resolutions of the Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers.

  Faculty members conduct thematic round-table discussions and educational talks on such issues as combating corruption, preventing religious extremism and terrorism, preventing drug abuse, observing ethical standards, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Cultural and festive events are also organized, including celebrations dedicated to Navruz, as well as theatrical performances.

  An important component of the department’s activities is community-oriented and socially beneficial work. This includes visits to student dormitories, participation in campus and community improvement activities and clean-up campaigns, as well as visits to a specialized technical school for children with disabilities. These activities contribute to developing compassion, tolerance, environmental awareness and social responsibility among students.

  The department’s faculty members also conduct lectures and round-table discussions in mahallas, medical schools and colleges, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention and the education and development of the younger generation.

  Thus, the department’s spiritual, educational and character-building activities contribute to the development of a professionally competent, morally mature, compassionate and socially responsible future physician.
