On January 31, the staff of the Department of Surgery, Endoscopy and Anesthesiology-Resuscitation of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education of the Samarkand State Medical University successfully performed an operation to remove a large recurrent angiosarcoma of the retroperitoneal space. Second-year clinical residents in the specialty "Surgery" also took part in the surgical intervention.
During the surgical intervention, a tumor was removed from a 73-year-old patient diagnosed with recurrent angiosarcoma of the abdominal cavity. During the operation, an angioprosthetic structure was installed on the left common iliac artery, a left-sided hemicolectomy was performed, and a transverse rectal anastomosis was formed.
The scientific significance of this complex operation lies in the successful implementation of a multifactorial approach to the treatment of recurrent retroperitoneal angiosarcoma with the participation of young specialists and clinical residents. This will contribute to their acquisition of practical skills in the field of vascular and abdominal surgery and their overall professional growth.!
