On October 11-12 of this year, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, “Ibn Sina” public foundation, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference on Traditional Medicine was held at the Samarkand State Medical University, dedicated to the 1044th anniversary of Abu Ali. Ibn Sina.
The conference, aimed at studying and widely introducing the legacy of our great scientist, who made a great contribution to world medicine, was attended by more than fifty specialists from 12 countries, including the Republic of Korea, India, Iran, Turkey, Austria, Russia, Uzbekistan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Elmira Basitkhanova, spoke about the importance of holding this prestigious conference, noting the activities and contribution to world science of the great scientist and thinker Abu Ali Ibn Sina. Rector of the Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Jasur Rizayev and Chairman of the Board of the Ibn Sina Public Foundation Nozimkhan Makhmudov, who spoke at the opening ceremony, also paid tribute to the multifaceted and vital activities of the "Head of Scientists" Abu Ali ibn Sina, and wished good luck to all conference participants.
The international conference heard reports on "The Teachings of Abu Ali ibn Sina and the Role of Hadith in Forming a Healthy Lifestyle", "Implementation of Ibn Sina's Ideas on Traditional Medicine in the Healthcare System of Uzbekistan", "Medicine in Traditional Medicine", "Current Issues of Standardization of Medicinal Plants in Traditional Medicine", "Information on Turkish Medicinal Plants", "Comprehensive Foundations of Traditional Medicine" and other current issues. Also, within the framework of the conference, foreign specialists held master classes and demonstrations of practical skills. A number of agreements were reached within the framework of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference on Traditional Medicine “Abu Ali ibn Sina – the Pearl of Medicine”. In particular, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed between the Samarkand State Medical University and the South Korean company “Komsta”.
This prestigious conference, organized with the aim of popularizing the scientific and medical heritage of Abu Ali ibn Sina, his contribution to world medicine, art and literature, will create a solid foundation for the implementation of his ideas in the field of practical medicine, and will also contribute to the further strengthening of international friendly ties between medical universities and research centers.
