Samarkand State Medical University has been establishing mutually beneficial cooperation relations with many leading foreign higher education institutions.

  In particular, the delegation led by the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, professor Jasur Rizayev, met with the rector of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan State University, professor Elbrus Isayev within the framework of the "Medical Congress of Turkish States" held at Yeditepe University in Turkey. The meeting discussed the establishment of bilateral cooperation relations. In the end, a memorandum on cooperation was signed between Nakhchivan State University and Samarkand State Medical University.

  For information: Nakhchivan State University, considered one of the leading universities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was established in 1967 as the Nakhchivan branch of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute. Currently, the university has 10 faculties (faculty of history and philology, international relations and law, economics and management, foreign languages, physics and mathematics, architecture and engineering, natural sciences and agriculture, medicine, pedagogy, art faculty) and 50 the nearby department operates.

  Today, Oliygoh occupies a leading position in the field of training of leading and highly qualified personnel in the country. High-tech diagnosis and treatment of surgical, laboratory, dental, gynecological and eye diseases are carried out in the university hospital operating on the basis of the medical faculty of the university.
