At present, the republic is implementing systematic measures to adapt the education system to modern requirements and to further develop international relations in the sphere of higher education. Samarkand State Medical University is actively working in this direction.

  On March 19-26 of the current year the delegation headed by the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Prof. Zhasur Rizaev visited a number of higher educational institutions and scientific centers of the People's Republic of China with an official visit. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with educational practices, scientific developments and achievements of educational institutions, which occupy leading positions not only in Asian, but also in international ratings.

  SamSMU delegation met with the Rector of Xinjiang University, Professor Haji Akber Aisa. During the visit members of the delegation got acquainted with the campus of Xinjiang University, educational processes, laboratories, simulation center, work of the university library. Within the framework of the dialog, an agreement was reached with representatives of the Chinese university on a number of projects, in particular, personnel exchange, joint scientific work, creation of joint laboratories and development of cooperation in the field of traditional medicine. As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed.

  On the second day of the visit SamSMU delegation visited the "Center of Traditional Medicine" of Xinjiang University. Here they got acquainted with the working conditions of the Center, prepared folk medicine preparations, methods of their preparation, as well as the services provided by the Center in the field of telemedicine.

  Within the framework of the visit, the University delegation also visited the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry, where they familiarized themselves with the scientific laboratories located there and the scientific work carried out there.
