A delegation from Samarkand State Medical University, headed by the Dean of the Faculty of International Education S.E. Mamarajabov, visited the University of Padua, which is considered the oldest university in Italy. The purpose of the visit was to establish mutual cooperation between the two educational institutions.

  During the visit, members of the delegation met and held negotiations with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Padua, Head of the Department of Heart, Vascular Transplantology and Health Faculty of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Federiko Rea, Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs, Head of the Department of Sports Medicine, Professor of Cardiology Korrado, Professor Kristina Basso, Professor Zorzi, professor Sergey Bondarev and other officials.

  During the negotiations, a number of agreements were reached and a memorandum of cooperation was signed on establishing academic mobility between students and teachers, the exchange of doctoral students, as well as the opportunity to participate in the Galileo Galiley and Erasmus programs.

  The history of the University of Padua dates back to 1222; the university is one of the oldest universities not only in Italy, but throughout Europe. In 2022, the university celebrated its 800th anniversary and entered the Top 1000 according to Time Higher Education.
