An online-meeting was held between the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov and Samarkand State Medical Institute. The meeting was attended by vice-rectors, deans and professors of KazSMU and Samarkand State Medical Institute.

  During the meeting, the sides discussed problems, achievements, as well as work to be done in collaboration with the Medical University in the field of education and science. It was noted that in current situation, when the need for medical personnel is high, cooperation between medical institutions of two countries is of great importance.

  At the end of the meeting Rector of KazSMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Talgat Seytjanovich Nurgojin read the decision of the Academic Council and conferred the title "Honorary Professor" of KazSMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov to Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zhasur Alimjanovich Rizaev.

  In his speech Prof. Zhasur Rizaev thanked the management and staff of the university and emphasized the willingness to develop comprehensive cooperation.

  We hope that cooperation issues in the future will raise relationship between the two universities to a new level.
