Uzbekistan and India have a long history of friendly relations that continue today, including in the field of education. Currently, about two thousand students from India are studying at Samarkand State Medical University.
In honor of one of the main holidays of the Indian people - Republic Day, the university organized the Day of Indian Culture. At the grand opening, the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Jasur Rizayev, especially emphasized the importance of strong friendly ties between the two peoples and the importance of the holiday. The event was also attended by the Consul of the Indian Embassy in Uzbekistan Rajesh Badola, who also warmly addressed the participants.
At the holiday, Indian students presented stage performances reflecting the history and culture of India, performed traditional dances and songs, as well as other interesting performances.
Active and exemplary students of SamSMU from India were awarded with certificates of honor, letters of thanks and memorable gifts.
The event will undoubtedly contribute to the further strengthening of relations between friendly nations.
