On March 2 under the initiative of trade-union, Women's council and Sport Club of Samarkand State Medical University sports competitions dedicated to "International Women's Day, March 8" among the faculty and staff under the motto "Healthy way of life is a great future!" was held.

  Thus, a total of 8 teams consisting of 48 participants from all departments and faculties of the university took part in the competition. They competed in Relay Race. The competition judges were members of the university's sports club.

  By results of competitions the 1st place was won by the team of faculty of medical pedagogics, national medicine and high nursing, the 2nd place was conquered by the team of the rectorate, the 3rd place was won by the team of 2nd Medical faculty. The winners were awarded with commemorative gifts and certificates of merit, which were solemnly presented by the chairman of the trade union of the University Yakhshinor Allayarov, Vice-Rector for Youth affairs, Spiritual and Educational Work Eldor Tangirov and the chairman of the Women's Council Gavkhar Khudayberdiyeva.

  The competition gave all participants and organisers a festive spring mood.
