Samarkand State Medical University devotes considerable attention to targeted internships for young specialists at established research centres in leading clinics abroad.
Parvoz Abdulhakimov, Master of the Department of Neurosurgery of the Samarkand State Medical University, and Master of the Department of Neurology Bekzod Nurmatov, from January 7 to February 2, 2023, underwent advanced training under the academic mobility program at the Department of Neurosurgery of the Altunzade Achibadem Clinic in Istanbul (Republic of Turkey). Our young specialists completed an internship under the guidance of the leading specialists of the Acibadem Hospital, Professors Mehmet Ozek and Koray Ozduman.
Master's student P. Abdulkhakimov gained practical experience in the operations "Stereotactic and functional neurosurgery", "Microneurosurgical neurooncology", "Spinal endoscopic neurosurgery", "Pediatric neurosurgery" which are considered the latest achievements of neurosurgery, and undergraduate B. Nurmatov improved his skills in neurophysiological examination of neurosurgical patients, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and the role of neurophysiology in the operation of "awake" patients. In addition, our undergraduates regularly participated in lectures by leading Turkish professors to consolidate their practical skills.
The training of our young specialists in foreign clinics will be of great importance in the further implementation of new generation surgical techniques and further strengthening our population's health .
