A celebration of "Republic Day of India" was held on January 26 at Samarkand State Medical University for the students of International Education Faculty from the Republic of India, which has been celebrated in this country since January 26, 1950. At the moment, more than 1170 Indian citizens are studying at the university and 14 Indian teachers are teaching in the university.
Thus, celebrations were held at the Youth Centre of Samarkand region. Rector of SamSMU Jasur Rizaev, who opened the celebrations, congratulated all the students and teachers on the occasion, and wished them good luck, peace and prosperity. During the solemn part of the event a group of foreign professors and students were awarded letters of gratitude.
It should be emphasized that the costume contest, national dances and songs presented at the celebration, skillfully performed by Indian students, gave a genuine festive mood to all the participants of the festivities.
The 'Republic Day' celebrations also took place in the student dormitories No.2 and No.4, where our international students reside.
