Today, 26th of September, a ceremony “Initiation into students” for the first-year students was held in a new academic building of Samarkand State Medical University. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the administration, faculty, tutors and students of the university.
The meeting was opened with a congratulatory speech by the Rector, Professor Zhasur Rizaev. The Rector and other speakers congratulated all incoming freshmen and wished them success in acquiring knowledge and becoming future doctors.
After the solemn ceremony, under the guidance of their tutors, dean office representatives and the primary organization of the Youth Union, the 1st year students were introduced to the academic buildings, classrooms and laboratories, modern information and resource centre and the museum of university history.
The first class for students was held in the traditional format of "Independence Lessons".
