On September 9, 2022, an international scientific-practical seminar and a master class on “Modern micro-neurosurgical methods of treatment of cavernous angiomas of the brain stem” were held at Samarkand State Medical University. More than 40 specialists, including neurosurgeons, neuropathologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, clinical residents and students took an active part in the seminar.
At the international event, Professor Eka Wahjoepromono, a leading specialist of Pelita Harapan University of Jakarta (Indonesia), made scientific presentations on the surgery of numerous patients with various localizations of cavernous angiomas of the brainstem. Presentations were made on modern microsurgical treatment of cavernoma, which is considered to be the most pressing problem in modern neurosurgery. In particular, the presented report "Clinical cases and the choice of neurosurgical access for cavernomas of various localization of the brain stem" was very enthralling for the participants of the seminar. The speaker gave detailed answers to all questions on the basis of his personal experience and various clinical cases.
Professor A.M. Mamadaliev, professor of department of neurosurgery, thanked Professor Eck and his colleagues for coming to Samarkand and sharing their experience. They exchanged commemorative gifts and took pictures.
Professor Eka Vakhjoepromono particularly noted the interest of young neurosurgeons in Samarkand and expressed readiness to cooperate in training and conducting complex operations directly at the clinical base of the university.
