Working groups comprising representatives of public education, culture, sports, spirituality and enlightenment, higher education, information technology and defense have begun to promote the organization of meaningful leisure time for the youth as the "Samarkand experience" pilot programme under the motto of "Enterprising helper" in Samarkand region .

  On May 13-14, meetings were held in Kattakurgan and Ishtikhan districts of Samarkand region with representatives of relevant organizations, including youth leaders, public figures, staff of spirituality and education centres, chairmen of mahallas, school propagandists and military education teachers. Representatives of the Samarkand State Medical University working group headed by S. Khalimov also took part in the meetings. It should be noted that the SamSMU covers 69 makhallas (eng. village) of Kattakurgan district and 62 makhallas of Ishtikhan district of the region.

  The participants of the meeting discussed issues concerning implementation of plans to organize meaningful leisure of youth in makhallas of districts, specific steps to promote activities within the framework of "Five Initiatives", as well as spiritual and outreach work among the younger generation.
