A selection tournament titled "Zakovat" (eng. intellectual game) was held among faculties and departments of Samarkand State Medical University on May 11. A total of 26 teams from departments and faculties took part in the competition.

  At the opening of the tournament Rector Zhasur Rizaev delivered a solemn speech, noted the positive effect of such competitions on the quality of knowledge and increase of motivation for intellectual work, and wished good luck to all the teams participating.

  All teams passed through two stages of the competition, in each of which they answered 15 questions. After hard intellectual competition 5 teams emerged as winners - team of dean of Faculty of Pediatrics, team of deputy deans of Faculty of Medical prophylaxis, Public Health and Medical Biology, tutor team of Faculty of Dentistry, SamMI Union team and team of Faculty of Postgraduate Education.

  The selected teams will compete for the absolute championship at the final "Zakovat" tournament of Samarkand State Medical University.
