Today, 30 January, events commemorating the birthday of the first President Islam Karimov (1938-2016) were held in Samarkand. This day is celebrated in the country in accordance with the Decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of 25 January 2017 “On Commemoration of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Abduganievich Karimov”.

  The solemn laying of flowers at the foot of the monument of Islam Karimov in Samarkand was attended by leaders of the region, prominent public figures, representatives of various state and public organizations and departments of the region.

  Representatives of Samarkand State Medical Institute also took an active part in the celebration events.
