HISTORY OF THE FACULTY
The Department of Pharmacy was established in 2018 as part of the Faculty of Pediatrics. Later, by the order of the rector of Samarkand State Medical Institute J.A. Rizaye dated July 3, 2020 No 543 / AF, the Faculty of Pharmacy was established and the dean of the faculty was appointed Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, N.M. Shavazi. The faculty has 5 departments (pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, pharmacognosy and pharmaceutical technology, biological chemistry and medical chemistry).
Of the 51 professors and teachers working at the faculty, 11 (23.4%) have academic degrees, including 3 doctors of sciences (5.8%), 9 candidates of sciences (19.1%).
As of September 2021, 586 students are studying at the faculty, of which 469 are on a contract basis. Language of instruction: Uzbek, Russian and English, 5510500 - "Pharmacy" in accordance with the qualification requirements of pharmacy.
In the organization of the educational process, special attention is paid to strict adherence to teaching and labor discipline, the widespread introduction of advanced pedagogical technologies in teaching practice, improving the quality and effectiveness of teaching in the departments of the faculty.

Rationalization of the work of the dean's office, the introduction of the position of deputy deans in each direction, the attendance of faculty students for each semester is at least 99.5 - 99.7%, high-quality mastering of disciplines. The rate is 75-80% and continues to improve.
Great attention is paid to working with gifted students, in 2021 more than 75 students were admitted to the ranks of gifted students, who are actively involved in the work of student scientific circles, participating in national Olympiads, institutes and national scientific conferences and awarded diplomas.
SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATION OF THE FACULTY OF PHARMACY WORKS
Spiritual and enlightenment work at the faculty helps students to master universal cultural values, centuries-old traditions and rich heritage of our people. Under the leadership of Mirziyoyev on March 19, 2019 to strengthen the attention to youth, to involve the younger generation in culture, arts, physical culture and sports, to form in them the ability to use information technology, to promote reading among young people. ib is aimed at forming high spiritual and moral qualities based on 5 important initiatives put forward in a video conference dedicated to the issues of women's employment.
Cultural and mass work is aimed at the meaningful organization of students' leisure time. One of the main activities of the faculty is the formation of high moral values in students, the development of interest in professional activities, the need for a healthy lifestyle, the involvement of students in cultural and public events of the institute.
In order to carry out these tasks, the faculty has a board of tutors, whose activities are carried out in accordance with the approved plan.
In order to organize meaningful leisure time of students, acquaint them with the rich spiritual heritage of our people and the development of domestic tourism in the country at the initiative of the rector of our institute accompanied 170 talented students who won various competitions and contests. A trip to Tashkent and Bukhara was organized for professors and teachers of the institute. Active students of the Faculty of Pharmacy also went on this trip together.

Each group of the faculty is assigned a coach appointed from among experienced teachers. Under the guidance of coaches, students of the faculty take an active part in public events, organize cultural activities, visit the historical monuments and sights of Samarkand, theaters and museums.
Great attention is paid to physical culture and sports. Students of the faculty participate in sports sections on swimming, tennis, chess, football, basketball, volleyball, national wrestling, martial arts, athletics, and work on the basis of the sports complex of the institute. They are actively involved in both regional and national sports competitions.

RESEARCH WORK
The scientific work carried out by scientists of the faculty has always been closely linked with the training of scientific and pedagogical staff and practical health requirements, as well as methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of maternal and child health, taking into account regional specifics. development ”is aimed at solving the problems identified in the state program of science and technology development.

For the last 2 years the staff of the Department of Pharmacy has defended 2 PhD dissertations of Baykulov Azim and Kholmurodova Dilafruz. Over the years, more than 200 scientific articles have been published, including 102 abroad, including 15 articles in journals indexed by the Scopus database.

STUDENT SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY
The participation of students in the work of scientific circles is an integral part of the educational process of the faculty, in which more than 65 students work on themselves. The research papers are published annually at the conference of young scientists of the institute and the best works are sent to inter-university scientific conferences and the students of the faculty win prizes every year.
On May 20-28, 2020, the Republican Online Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions was held in our country. Students from different universities participated in the Olympiad on various topics. According to its results, the 3rd place in the subject "German language" was awarded to Toirova Sevinch, a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy of SamDMI.
Students of our faculty take an active part in the International Science Olympiads, scientific and practical conferences of students and young scientists, including: 2nd year student Uralova Gulkhayo "Sports Pharmacology" in the competition "II International Olympiad in Sports Medicine" in the Russian Federation He took the 1st place in the direction of "Teamwork" and took the 2nd place in the same Olympiad.
