Norbutaev A.B. was born in 1973, in the Bulungur district of the Samarkand region. In 1996 he graduated from the dental faculty of the Tashkent State Medical Institute.

1991-1996 - Student of Tashkent State Medical Institute;
1996-1997 - Intern of the Samarkand Regional Dental Polyclinic;
1997-2012 - Orthopedic dentist of the Samarkand Regional Dental Clinic;
2012 - present - Chief physician of the Samarkand Regional Dental Polyclinic. In 2021 he defended his PhD thesis.
Akhmedov Alisher Astanovich was born in 1983 in Tashkent. In 2016, he graduated from the dental faculty of the Tashkent State Dental Institute.

In 2017, the Samarkand regional branch of the Tashkent State Dental Institute was transferred to Samarkand State Medical University as a dental faculty. In the same year, the 1st department of the Department of Dentistry was created, the head of which was appointed A.B. Norbutaev.
The Department of Orthopedic Dentistry was established on June 30, 2021. In 2022, in order to improve the quality of education, the educational process and pedagogical activity of the Faculty of Dentistry, the department was renamed the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, and more than 14 teachers conduct practical and pedagogical activities there. During the existence of the department, the staff defended candidate's dissertations, two employees of the department received the title of associate professor. Five employees have the highest medical category. The department has fully equipped classrooms and a lecture hall in the dental clinic.
At the moment, dissertations for the degrees of candidates and doctors of medical sciences are being carried out at the department. The purpose of teaching and studying orthopedic dentistry is to acquire scientific knowledge by students about the prevention, etiology, pathogenesis and treatment of developmental abnormalities, acquired defects, injuries, deformations and functional disorders of the masticatory apparatus and other organs of the dental system, as well as to train specialists with the basics of clinical thinking, able to conduct an examination, make and justify a diagnosis, to make a plan for the management of patients and those who have mastered the basic manual skills during the orthopedic treatment of dental diseases.
