A solemn event dedicated to the 542nd anniversary of the birth of Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur, an outstanding poet and scientist, historian, geographer, talented commander, representative of the Timurid dynasty and founder of the Baburid dynasty, was held at Samarkand State Medical University.

The participants of the festive meeting were greeted by the director of the Institute of Scientific Research of Central Asia of Jawaharlal Nehru University (India), Doctor of Philology, Professor Akhlaq Ahmad Ahan, honored journalist of Uzbekistan, editor-in-chief of the newspapers "Zarafshan" and "Samarkandskiy Vestnik " Farmon Toshev, a representative of the family of the People's Artist of Uzbekistan Yunus Rajabi, laureate of the state prize "Nikhol" Aziz Rajabi, professor of the Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Philology Xulkar Khamroeva.

  During the event, the memory of the great ancestor was honored, his difficult life path, as well as his rich scientific and creative heritage were noted. Students and guests made creative performances, which gave the participants of the event a festive mood. 

  Meetings with students in honor of the birthday of Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur were also held in the university hostels.
