SamSMU neurosurgeons took part in the advanced training courses of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS)

  On May 31 - June 1, 2024 in the conference hall of Wyndham Hotel in Tashkent educational courses organized by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and the Association of Neurosurgeons of Uzbekistan were held. More than 100 participants from more than 10 countries of the world took part in the educational courses along with neurosurgeons of our Republic. The staff, clinical coordinators and members of the student scientific society “Young Neurosurgeons” of the Department of Neurosurgery of Samarkand State Medical University also actively participated in the advanced training courses. 

  At the training courses 9 branch sections covering all directions of neurosurgery were organized, where more than 50 lectures devoted to the most actual problems of neurosurgery were heard.

  Head of the Neurosurgery Department of Samarkand State Medical University, Associate Professor M.A.Aliyev took part in the courses as an invited speaker and moderated the plenary sessions “Cervical and spinal cord trauma”, “Surgery of lumbar spondylodesis”, as well as the plenary session “Spine problems” with the report “Diagnosis and surgery of spinal cord tumors”.

  The reports read during the course in almost all areas were interesting and informative due to their scientific novelty, practical relevance and geographical coverage of the participants. And these training courses will serve as a stimulus for further development of practical skills of young neurosurgeons.
