On September 28, Samarkand State Medical University organized a festival of costumes "Khon Atlas" with the purpose of popularization of national costumes and raising the culture of dress of youth. The event was attended by the university administration, activists of the Women's Advisory Council, professors and teachers, activists of "Kizlarjon" and "Girls Leaders" clubs, as well as female students from India, Afghanistan, Turkey, Russia, Korea, who presented national and Uzbek costumes.

  During the festival speakers emphasized that national customs of Uzbek people, culture of dress, national adras and satin fabrics have a deep history, have acquired the character of national value, these fabrics and costumes fully correspond to modern realities of time.

  Also within the framework of the festival on the initiative of SamSMU Women's Advisory Council a cultural and educational event under the motto "The country where national values are of a great importance"  were held in form of exhibition of creative works .

  The national songs sounded during the event gave the participants a real festive mood.
