On September 22, 2023, "VI Congress of anesthesiologists and resuscitators of the Republic of Uzbekistan" began in Samarkand State Medical University. The international conference was attended by renowned scientists and practitioners in the field of anesthesiology and resuscitation from medical universities and medical centers of the republic, as well as France, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, China, Ukraine, Israel, Kyrgyzstan and other countries. Among the invited speakers were well-known specialists, including DSc, prof. Alexey Ovezov (Moscow, Russia), chief physician Liu Yatao (China), PhD, Prof. Y.Y. Kobelyatsky (Ukraine), DSc., Prof. N.P. Shen (Russia), DSc I.A. Savin (Russia), anesthesiologist and resuscitator Alain Marais Paul Gerard (France), Zinaida Rabin (Israel) and many others.
Speakers of the international forum, in particular Rector of Samarkand State Medical University Zhasur Rizaev, deputy director for education of the Center for Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Munira Kasimova, head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of the Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute Professor Alexey Ovezov and others, emphasized the importance of discussing the latest trends and topical issues of modern anesthesiology and reanimatology for the development of health care and medical science, noted the importance of international cooperation between universities. Also, the head of the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Professor Uktam Ismailov in his welcoming speech outlined: "In the past period, especially during the pandemic COVID-19, the shortage of specialists in the field of anesthesiologists and resuscitators was clearly visible on a global scale. However, as a result of the dedicated work of qualified anesthesiologists and resuscitators of our country, the lives of many patients were saved. Today there are large-scale changes in the field of anesthesiology and reanimatology. This forum organized at Samarkand State Medical University is a vivid confirmation of this".
Thus, reports on achievements and prospects of development of high-tech direction in anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care were heard at the plenary session of the conference, in particular, the positive experience of the School of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine of Samarkand State Medical University was presented. The main part of the international forum was held at the sectional sessions, where presentations were made on the role of anesthesiology and resuscitation in transplantology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology and other spheres of medicine. The presentations of foreign specialists and young researchers attracted special attention of the participants.
Scientific innovations and practical developments presented by scientists from different countries and our republic in the framework of the international conference will provide more operative and qualitative medical services to solve urgent problems in practical healthcare, will make a significant contribution to the further development of anesthesiology and resuscitation in the republic.
