On May 22-25, 2023, Samarkand State Medical University, together with Kursk State Medical University and Abu Ali Ibni Sino Tajik State Medical University, held the XVII International Scientific and Practical Electronic Conference "Language. Education. Culture, "dedicated to the 88th anniversary of KSMU and the Year of Teacher and Mentor.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss research activities in the field of language, culture and education, exchange experience and improve the quality of teaching these disciplines. The conference was held in traditional and online format.
Speaking at the opening of the international conference, rector of SSMU, prof. Zhasur Rizaev noted the importance of the conference in popularizing the humanitarian component of education in medical universities, the role of studying foreign languages in maintaining international contacts, and also congratulated the staff of Kursk State Medical University on its 88th anniversary.
Within the framework of the conference, plenary sessions, sections, round tables, master classes and discussions were held, where a wide range of issues related to language, culture and education were discussed. Among them are problems of intercultural communication, methods of teaching languages, issues of linguistic anthropology and sociolinguistics, as well as problems of preserving and promoting cultural heritage. In addition, the conference was a platform for establishing contacts and exchanging experience between scientists and teachers from different countries and their cultures.
More than 300 participants from different countries had the opportunity to present their scientific work, discuss current problems and share their experience.
In the speeches of SSMU representatives at the international conference, the accumulated experience in teaching pedagogical and linguistic disciplines was presented, it was noted that at Samarkand Medical University special attention is paid to the study of languages, which is an important skill for medical workers. Learning languages at a medical university can help students better understand the cultural differences and traditions of patients from other countries and cultures. This allows you to better adapt to work in a intercultural environment and respect the cultural values of patients in other countries.
