On May 19-20, 2023, the traditional 77th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Achievements of Fundamental, Applied Medicine and Pharmacy" was held at Samarkand State Medical University. The international conference was attended by students and young scientists from medical universities and research centers in Turkey, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, India, Pakistan, Poland, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
At the opening ceremony of the international conference Rector of Samarkand State Medical University Jasur Rizayev, Rector of Tashkent Medical Pediatric Institute Botir Daminov, Rector of Baltic Federal University named after I. Kanta Alexander Fedorov (Kaliningrad, Russia), Abu Ali ibn Sina Mahmadshoh Kurbonali Gulzod Tajik State Medical University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan), Rector of the Volga Research Medical University Nikolai Karjakin (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) and other speakers noted the importance of the international forum in supporting talented youth, the need to expand mutually beneficial international cooperation between universities, wished successful performances to all participants.
After the plenary session, the main work of the international conference continued at 17 sectional meetings, where more than 550 speeches were heard on topical issues of medicine such as public health, social disciplines in medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, psychiatry, sports medicine and rehabilitation, pediatrics, obstetrics-gynecology and reproductive medicine, surgery, urology, pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, traumatology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, infectious diseases. Particular attention was paid to speeches on the introduction of information technologies in modern medicine, improving the quality of medical services provided, the introduction of fundamental medicine achievements in the practical healthcare industry, Start-up projects of young scientists. The authors of the presented best scientific developments were awarded diplomas of prizes and nominations. More than a thousand scientific works of the participants were published in a special collection of scientific works of the international conference.
Held by Samarkand State Medical University, the 77th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Achievements in Fundamental, Applied Medicine and Pharmacy" will make a significant contribution to attracting talented young scientists and students to research work and effectively using their potential and scientific developments, further improving the quality of teaching fundamental and clinical disciplines and developing international cooperation of medical universities of the republic.
