On December 1-2, 2022, Samarkand State Medical University was visited by Professor, Neurosurgeon Tolga Turan Dundar from the Medical Faculty , Bezmialem Vakif University (Istanbul, Turkey) as part of the academic mobility program. This university is one of the first thematic research universities in health and life sciences in Turkey, as well as a non-profit base university that aims to advance education, research and health care. It provides training for around 3,500 students and clinical services for 8,000 patients every day in two main hospitals and three outpatient clinics.
Prof. Dr. Tolga Turan Dundar is a leading specialist in the treatment of neurosurgical conditions using the latest innovations and techniques in neurosurgery, such as minimally invasive surgery, endoscopic surgery, intraoperative neuronavigation using neuromonitoring technology, stereotactic radiosurgery, awake surgery, deep brain stimulation and many approaches to minimally invasive spinal surgery.
During his visit, Prof. Dr. Tolga Turan Dundar conducted several successful operations at the neurosurgery department of Clinic 1 at Samarkand State Medical University and also held lectures and practical classes for 4th year students of the Medical Faculty .
