On November 24, ceremonial initiation and oath-taking of first-year students of Samarkand State Medical University was held at the Regional Theater of Musical Drama. A total of over 1800 students from eight faculties of the university, as well as distinguished teachers and mentors, the university administration attended the solemn meeting.

  Thus, in his congratulatory address Rector of SamSMU Prof. J.A. Rizaev underlined that the high title of medical student is not only a privilege, but also imposes duties on the harmonization of life and future physicians must always be the examples of integrity, diligence, commitment to duty and profession.

  In additional, the vocal-symphonic theatrical composition "Welcome to Samarkand" and the play "I'll Try to Take It", presented by the actors of the theatre, brought a special festive mood to all the participants, which earned applause from the first-year students of the university.
