On October 14-15, 2022 Samarkand State Medical University hosts the International Scientific-Practical Conference "Psychiatry, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Rehabilitation: Borders of Integration". The leading specialists from medical universities, research organizations and medical centers of Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan took part in the international conference.
At the opening ceremony of the international conference the rector of the Samarkand State Medical University Jasur Rizaev, Rector of the Bashkir State Medical University Valentin Pavlov, Rector of the Izhevsk State Medical Academy Alexey Shklyaev, Rector of the I.Kant Baltic Federal University Alexander Fedorov and other guests and participants noted the importance of international forums held at SamSMU in expanding mutually beneficial international cooperation.
After the official opening ceremony of the conference, a memorandum of cooperation between Samarkand State Medical University and Samarkand Tourism Center was solemnly signed.
According to the agenda of the international forum, after hearing the reports of the plenary session, the main work of the international conference continued at 5 plenary sessions, where the presentations of the participants in the areas: "Modern Directions and Prospects of Medical Rehabilitation", "Topical Issues of Psychiatric Care Organization", "Neurology: from Theory to Practice", "Modern Directions and Prospects of Sports Medicine", "Rehabilitation in Neurosurgery: Modern Practice and Prospects of Development", and also a special session "Young Scientists" and competition of young scientists. The materials of the conference were published in a special issue of the international journal "Biomedicine and Practice".
The International Scientific and Practical Conference "Psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery and rehabilitation: edges of integration" held at Samarkand State Medical University will certainly contribute to the development of psychiatric, neurological and neurosurgical science, attraction of talented young scientists to the research work, further improvement of quality of teaching clinical disciplines at medical universities and postgraduate education institutions, and also development of international cooperation in the fields of psychiatry, neurology and neurosurgery.
