On September 21-25, the IInd International Student Congress of Neurosurgery was held in Granada, Spain. Staff and students of the Neurosurgery Department of Samarkand State Medical University actively participated in the congress.
The opening ceremony was attended and lectures were given by world renowned neurosurgeons such as President of Asian Neurosurgery Association, Professor Yoko Kato (Japan) and Head of Neurosurgery Department at Charité Hospital, Peter Weikozzi (Germany). During the congress master classes were held for the participants by leading neurosurgeon scientists, including Salem Abdulrauf, Francisco Fernandez, George Hannah, Rebecca Perez, George Christian Tonne and Walter Stammer.
The participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and learn modern techniques of microneurosurgery, in particular ultrasound suction (Soring, Germany), radiofrequency ablation (Avanos, Germany) and a microscope (Zeiss Tivato, Germany).
The programme of the congress included 8 reports from members of the Student Scientific Society of the Department of Neurosurgery at Samara State Medical University "Young Neurosurgeons". The head of neurosurgery department, associate professor Aliev M.A. and active participant of neurosurgery club, the 5th year student of medical faculty Kuvondikov K.A. who made oral presentation on a plenary session: "The Significance of Immunocorrective Treatment of Patients with Cerebral Echinococcosis" participated in the Congress. Also, students of neurosurgery club, a 5-year student of medical faculty Kholmurodova H.H., students of international faculty Muhammadvasim Sayidakbarhan, Mairah Noor, Rabia Zafar, Minakhil Hammad, Muhammad Zaryab Khan; Kholmurodov O.H, Akramova A.A., Zhonimkulova D.A., Farukhova M.Z., Khudojberdieva D.A., Master Residents of Neurosurgery Department Abduvoitov B.A. and Abdulkhakimov P.V. Participants who made presentations were given certificates and souvenirs.
At the closing ceremony of the II International Congress, Mansur Aliev, PhD, Head of Neurosurgery Department of Samarkand State Medical University, thanked the organisers for a very informative event and expressed the willingness of our university to establish international cooperation in neurosurgery.
