Today, on September 2, commemorative events in honor of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in the city of Samarkand.
On this occasion, the region's khokim (eng. the head of local government) Erkinjon Turdimov, members of local government and public organizations visited the tomb of Islam Karimov at Khazrati Khizr complex; surahs of the Holy Quran were read. The merits of the first President before the independence and development of our country, his creative work were recognized.
The leaders of regional and city khokimiyats, heads of government and public organizations also laid flowers at the base of the monument to Islam Karimov near Registan square.
Employees of the Samarkand State Medical University also took an active part in the commemorative events.
