On June 10, Samarkand State Medical University hosted a scientific and practical conference titled "The Book as the Basis of Knowledge and Mentor of Life". The conference was attended by representatives of the administration, deans of faculties, heads of departments, professors and students, as well as scientists and students of medical universities of the republic in online mode.

  The aim of the conference was to present new educational literature created by professors and staff of Samara State Medical University.

  Opening the conference, Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor J. A. Rizaev said about the role and importance of books in the formation of young people as competitive modern specialists, the relevance of educational literature published by professors and teachers, noting that each work will further enhance the prestige of the university in the educational space.

  At the conference Director of the Information and Resource Center D. Mansurova spoke about the Center and the educational literature published by the professors during the academic year. Authors, professors of SamSMU, presented more than 26 titles of their latest textbooks, teaching aids, and monographs published over the past year.

  A book fair was also organized for students and readers as part of the event.

  The conference was a lively discussion between authors and participants. The great interest shown by the representatives of other participating universities in the educational literature of SamSMU staff became a pledge for holding similar meetings in the future.
