A reunion of graduates of 1982 of Samarkand State Medical University was held on May 28-29, 2022. Over 300 alumni from all over Uzbekistan and the world gathered for the 40th anniversary of SamSMU graduation.

  Taking part in the meeting were professors, associate professors and lecturers of SamSMU and higher educational institutions of the country, doctors, healthcare organizers and private entrepreneurs. The meeting was also organized online for those who could not join in.

  The festivities began with registration. Then, at a generous dastarkhan the participants exchanged impressions, remembered their dedicated teachers and their untimely departed colleagues. The first day was full of a tourist program on the sights of Samarkand, and the participants visited their alma-mater, met with teachers, saw classrooms of the new building and the museum of history of the University. On behalf of the graduates of 1982nd year, a painting was presented to the university and an entry was left in the museum's book of honorary guests.

  The meeting ended with a solemn note with perspective plans for similar meetings in the future.
