Samarkand State Medical University under the initiative of primary organization of Youth Union on May 30 was held University Comedy Tournament of teams of faculties for "SamSMU Rector's Cup".

  First vice-rector for spiritual and educational work and youth SamSMU E. S. Tangirov, who spoke at the opening ceremony, stressed the importance of comedy contests for formation of students as enterprising, socially active and understanding friendship and solidarity.

  Bright and masterfully prepared performances of student teams caused a standing ovation and applause of the participants of the tournament. At the end of the competition was held a biathlon on jokes between the teams of the Faculty of Medical Prevention, Public Health and Medical Biology "Med Life" and the Faculty of Pediatrics "Mediator", who had scored the highest number of points in the previous stages of the tournament.

  After summarizing the results, "1st place" was awarded to "MedLife" team of the Faculty of Public Health and Medical Biology, the winners were awarded a Cup, Diploma and cash prize of 3 500 000 sums, "2nd place" - team "Mediator" of the Faculty of Pediatrics, which received a diploma and cash prize of 2 500 000 sums, and "3rd place" was awarded to "NB" team of the Medical Faculty #1, which was awarded a diploma and cash prize of 1 200 000 sum.

  In addition the student of the medical faculty #1 Anvar Sobirov was awarded as "The wittiest student" and money prize at the rate of 1 0000 000 sums; the student of the faculty of public health and medical biology Nargiza Khudoykulova was awarded as "The wittiest student" and money prize at the rate of 1 000 000 sums.

  Participants and spectators expressed the common opinion that there are no winners and losers in such tournaments, and the main thing is participation. University and faculty comedy tournaments will continue to be held on a regular basis.
