The International Symposium of the Turkic World Countries "Modern Approaches in Dentistry" began its work on May 26. The organizer of the symposium is the Faculty of Dentistry at Gulhane University of Medical Sciences (Istanbul, Turkey) which is a partner university of Samarkand State Medical University.

  At the opening ceremony of the International Symposium, Rector of SamSMU, Professor Zhasur Rizaev made a welcoming speech. In his speech he told about the main trends in the development of the Uzbek school of dentistry and ongoing changes to improve training for this field of medicine and emphasized the importance of international cooperation and sharing experiences for the development of dental science and practice. Other speakers also emphasized the importance of international cooperation for the development of this field of medicine in their countries.
