History of the faculty

  The Faculty of Medicine began its activity in 1930, when the Samarkand State Medical University was founded, and was the only faculty of the university until 1963.

  The main departments of the faculty were established in 1930-1935. New departments and courses were established in connection with the university being granted the status of a higher educational institution of the second category in 1947, and first category in 1965. Accordingly, each department has a rich history and invaluable experience in training qualified specialists.

  Among the graduates of the faculty were: I.K. Musabaev (Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, correspondent - member of RMFA, laureate of the scientific award named after Beruni of the State of Uzbekistan, Honored doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honored scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, doctor of medical sciences, professor), U.O. Oripov ( Scientist surgeon, doctor of medical sciences, professor. Honored doctor of the USSR, Honored scientist of the USSR. Academician of the FA of the USSR and the New York Academy. Academician of RFA and RMFA, doctor of medical sciences, professor, director of FMBA University of Immunology of Russia) , as well as many influential people who worked in the health care system are honors of the organizers and heads of the department.

  Among the talented students of the faculty, 2 were awarded the scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 6 were awarded the state scholarships named after Ibn Sino, 2 were awarded with the state scholarships named after I. Karimov, 4 were awarded with the Association of Doctors of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and 3 were awarded with the scholarships of the Trade Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In addition, more than 50 talented students of the Faculty became winners of prestigious International and Republican competitions and science Olympiads.

   2395 students are studying at the faculty. Education is conducted in Uzbek, Russian and English languages, in accordance with the requirements of the qualifications of a doctor of medicine (physician) in the direction of 5510100-"medical work".

  In organizing the educational process, strict adherence to educational and labor discipline, wide introduction of advanced pedagogical technologies into teaching practice, and improvement of the quality and efficiency of teaching in faculty departments are of crucial importance.

  Regular financial incentives to professors and students, monetary awards, admission of students to famous state scholarships, as well as scholarships of the Association of Doctors of Uzbekistan can be found in the team.

  Deputy deans: R.Kh.Bobkulov., Z.Kh.Karshiev., G.M.Urakov, and N.K.Khasanov are trying to learn the life of each student, provide the necessary support, and meet with the students' parents in the implementation of these hard, daily tasks. Rationalizing the work of deans, introducing the positions of deputy deans for each course, attaching one deputy dean to the 1st to 6th course, and increasing the total number of students in the faculty for each semester from 99.6 to 99.8% should not be less, high-quality acquisition rate in subjects is 80-90% and improvement is ongoing.

  The scientific work carried out by the scientists of the faculty is always inextricably linked with the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel and the requirements of practical health care.

  It should be noted that scientists of the faculty participate in contests for grant orders to carry out their scientific research.

  Great attention is paid to working with gifted students, in 2020 more than 100 students were accepted into the group of gifted students; they actively participated in the work of student scientific circles, represented the university at republican Olympiads, gave lectures at university, republican and international scientific conferences, were awarded with publications, medals and diplomas.

  Some of them identified the topics of future master's and doctoral theses, serious research work began.

  Spiritual and educational work at the faculty helps students to master universal cultural values, centuries-old traditions and rich heritage of our people, a special way of forming a sovereign Uzbekistan, described by them in the works of the first President of our Republic, I. A. Karimov, and aimed at promoting it among a number of developed countries, forming high moral and ethical qualities based on the education of patriotism and pride for our Motherland.
