On June 5, 2024 the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent Medical Academy and Tashkent State Dental Institute organized an international scientific-practical conference “Modern methods of treatment of Parkinson's disease” in the conference hall of Hilton Hotel in Tashkent.
The conference was attended by many renowned Parkinson's disease specialists from more than 10 countries, including neurosurgeons, neuropathologists, neuropsychologists, neurorehabilitation specialists and neurophysiologists. More than 20 scientific reports on etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinic, differential diagnostics, modern methods of conservative and surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease were presented at the conference.
Director of the Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Neurosurgery and Neurorehabilitation, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery of Samarkand State Medical University, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor M.A.Aliyev took an active part in the conference with the report “Analysis of the first results of surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease in Uzbekistan”. In December 2023, for the first time in Uzbekistan, - in the specialized scientific-practical center of neurosurgery and neurorehabilitation of SamSMU, effective treatment of Parkinson's disease was carried out by installation of chip-implants in deep structures of the brain. The report presented the results of surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease performed in 20 patients over the last 6 months, including the patients' condition before and after surgery, the absence of preoperative clinical signs in the postoperative period, and the improvement of patients' quality of life through videos and presentations. The achieved results were highly appreciated by the conference participants and aroused great interest.
Discussion of Parkinson's disease at this international scientific-practical conference allowed to emphasize the attention of participants to this problem, to discuss and exchange experience on application of the most advanced ways and methods of treatment of this disease.
