In connection with the March 15 World Consumer Rights Day, an event dedicated to increasing financial literacy was organized at the Samarkand State Medical University with the participation of representatives of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the deputy head of the Department of Competition Development and Protection of Consumer Rights of Samarkand Region A. Yaqubov, the head of the Department of Social Humanities of Samarkand State Medical University A. Makhmudova, tutors and students.
In his speech, A. Yakubov gave explanations to the youth on the issues of consumer rights protection and financial literacy. In particular, the basis of the economy of Uzbekistan, aimed at increasing the well-being of citizens, is the formation of various forms of property, the development of state market relations and the creation of conditions for fair competition, and the guarantee of economic activity, entrepreneurship and freedom of labor, taking into account the priority of the rights of consumers. He mentioned that its constitution is determined by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Protection of Consumer Rights".
He also introduced the presentation materials on the topic of financial literacy and provided information about the work being done to ensure the protection of consumer rights, the main rights and obligations of the consumer and the seller (executor, producer).
The students were also informed about the history, organization and main tasks of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Important information about consumer rights and necessary recommendations about consumer culture were given during the event. Students had the opportunity to get detailed answers to the questions they were interested in.
