Ismail Yilmaz, professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Medical Sciences (Istanbul, Turkey) and surgeon at the General Surgery Department of Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital visited the proctology department of the general surgery department of the Samarkand State Medical Institute's Clinic No.1. During the visit, Prof. Ismail Yilmaz conducted a scientific and practical seminar. As a part of the visit a lecture on "Diseases of the anorectal region" was delivered to the staff and students of the Department of General Surgery of Samarkand State Medical Institute. The questions of employees and students were answered during the lecture.

  Professor Ismail Yilmaz, associate professor Ulugbek Akhrorovich Sherbekov and associate professor Zafar Israfulovich Murtazaev conducted the operations at the clinical base of Department of General Surgery within the framework of guest's visit. Particularly, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was conducted on 1 patient and laparoscopic right hemicolectomy - on 1 patient with the use of modern medical equipment. After the surgery, a plan for further scientific and practical work was agreed upon with the staff of the department and Prof. Ismail Yilmaz. The agreement includes the establishment of academic mobility between the representatives of our universities.
