Samarkand State Medical Institute in cooperation with "Medical Park", "Vm Medical Park" and "Liv" from Turkey held a practical seminar on "Modern Achievements of Medical Science and Technology".

  The seminar was attended by doctors specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, surgery and urology from Samarkand region.

  At the opening of the international conference rector of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, professor Zhasur Rizaev spoke about the latest achievements of modern medicine.

  The lectures on the next topics: "Modern methods of treatment of infertility, IVF successes", "Transplantation of bone marrow", "Advantages of treatment with new technologies in oncourology and onconeurology", "High-tech health care, special researches on organ transplantation", "General oncology, carcinogenesis, issues of epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment principles of malignant tumors", "Kidney transplantation" and "Aesthetic surgery in gynecology" were delivered by leading Turkish specialists.

  In the afternoon, Professor Zafar Kurbaniyazov of Samarkand State Medical Institute's Department of Surgical Diseases 1 and Professor Bulent Unal of "Medical Park" conducted a joint surgery.

  In the future, according to a memorandum between Samarkand State Medical Institute and Medical Park Medical Center, operations will be carried out on kidney and liver transplants.

  For information, there are 5,000 liver cirrhosis patients in the country, of whom 500, or 10%, need a liver transplant. To date, a total of 10 liver transplants have been performed in our country. We hope that the development of the relationship between SamSMI and Medical Park will contribute to the further development of this area of medicine in Uzbekistan.
