In order to implement in practice the five initiatives of the President, in particular on the direction of physical training of young people and creating the necessary conditions for them to show their abilities in sport, Samarkand State Medical Instituteunder the motto "Healthy Life - the Foundation of Greatness" held sports tournaments "Rector's Cup" in mini-football from May 27 to June 5.

  Thus, 12 teams composed of academic staff and 32 student teams from the faculties of the Institute, took part in the competition.

  As a result of stubborn competition among students, the 1st place was reached by the team of medical faculty (5th year), 2nd place - team of dental faculty (3rd year) and 3rd place - team of medical faculty (2nd year).

  Among the academic staff teams, the 1st place was awarded to the team of the Faculty of Medicine, 2nd place - to the team of the Faculty of Medical Pedagogy and 3rd place - to the team of the Academic Lyceum of the Institute.

   All the winners were given certificates and souvenirs at the solemn awarding ceremony, and the participants expressed their gratitude to Rector Prof. J.A. Rizaev for the regular organization of sports events at the Institute.
