February 1 - March 1, 2021 is announced as "Month of struggle against spread of narcotic substances among youth".

  On 4 February, a meeting with students under the slogan "We are youth against drugs and AIDS"was held at Samarkand State Medical Institute. The event was attended by representatives of the rectorate, the staff and students of all faculties of the institute, as well as guests of the meeting - responsible employees of the Police Department, the Imom Ishon Muhammad Mosque and employees of the regional narcological dispensary. So, the speakers addressed to the participants of the event detailing the activities implemented in Samarkand region on combating spread and use of narcotic drugs, their great harm for human health, especially the young generation, the social and economic consequences of drug use, ruined families, human destinies and other destructive consequences. The speakers specially emphasised the state support to talented youth in terms of scientific, sports and various creative activities.

  After the event, the participants were shown the documentaries "Those who lost themselves" and "We are against AIDS, how about you?", dedicated to the pernicious consequences of drug use.

  At the end of the event, thanks were expressed to the guests for their interesting presentations and the importance of communicating the issues discussed to all students and staff of the institute was noted.
