On February 26, student scientific conference on the theme "Actual problems of hematology and transfusiology" was held in the Big Hall of Samarkand State Medical Institute on the initiative of the Department of Hematology of the Institute. The conference was attended by students of the institute, members of the student scientific society, employees of Samarkand College of Public Health named after Abu Ali ibn Sino and Samarkand Regional Center of Hematology .
  So, the scientific-practical conference was opened by Rector of the Institute Prof. J.A. Rizaev. Jasur Alimjanovich thanked all organizers and participants and said that all conditions had been created at the institute for students to demonstrate their talents.
  Thus, the main work of the conference was held in four sections. In the first section 12 lectures on topical issues of hematology were given for students of the institute. In the second section lectures were given by the staff of Samarkand College of Public Health named after Abu Ali ibn Sino and Samarkand Regional Hematology Center. In the third section students were provided a master class on trephine biopsy and puncture of joints, lymph nodes and bone marrow by specialists. In the last, fourth section of the conference a competition was held with the participation of 3-4 year students of the institute under the motto "National costumes are our pride".
  It should be noted that the student research conference would serve to attract talented students to research at the institute, combine theory and practice and further improve the quality of education for highly qualified medical personnel.
